Cantona

Cantona - Puebla - Mexico

Cantona is one of my favourite archeological sites. The Mesoamerican site stretch over 12 km2 and was inhabited from AD 600 to 1000. No mortar was used for building, and nearly 3,000 houses are linked by a raised road. The ruins by themselves are somewhat interesting.

The highlight of this site are the ruins, the vegetation of yuccas and cacti, and above all the volcanoes in the background. The scenery from atop a pyramid is breathtaking.
