North Pantanal - Estrada Parque Transpantaneira
Detour around the Pantanal
As mentioned in the previous blog post, the boat connecting Corumbá and Porto Jofre broke down, and I would have had to wait more than two weeks to sail to Porto Jofre. The experience would probably have been interesting, but the delay was too long... Brazil is huge, and there is so much to see with a relatively short visa; I cannot afford to “waste” two weeks waiting.
So, I drive around the Pantanal on a road that stretches over 1,400 km. Along the way, I still see some interesting animals and beautiful landscapes.

North Pantanal - Estrada Parque Transpantaneira
I am now on the northern side of the Pantanal. I am starting the Transpantaneira road to Porto Jofre. This route is normally known for the opportunity to see many animals and a large number of birds, but I have not been fortunate enough to see this abundance.
I took some nice photos, but given that the road stretches for nearly 140 km, the density of wildlife was very low. The lack of rain in recent years explains this phenomenon.
